MORE ABOUT THE COURSE
The course consists of four half-day lectures (20 hours) on practical "Nuts & Bolts" Clinical Oral Pathology. There is special emphasis on oral cancer and management of lesions that could represent oral cancer. It covers oral pathology in a way that most clinicians haven't experienced before. Schemes for management of specific lesion types are discussed as well as a thorough review of oral exam procedures. The course is taught in a casual and relaxed atmosphere that provides a very enjoyable learning experience with a lot of give and take between participants and instructors. A testament to the course's popularity is the fact that each year 66% of the participants have taken the course 1, 2, 5 and even 10 times before. One doctor who has taken the course multiple times says "Everyone should take this course every year".
The course is presented by Dr. Doug Damm and Dr. Jim Drummond, from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, who collectively have over 75 years of teaching experience. They have been teaching this type of CE course for over 30 years. Since the course is co-sponsored by the Arkansas Academy of General Dentistry, participants can receive AGD PACE credit as well as ADA CERP credit.
